Bhaderwah’s Anmol and Kupwara’s Huzaif Shine in JKAS23: Top Performers in JKPSC Combined Competitive Exam 2022

Srinagar: In a ground-breaking achievement, Anmol Rathore, a law graduate, has secured the top position in the Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission’s (JKPSC) Combined Competitive Examination (CCE) -2022. The results were officially released on August 22, 2023, ending a rigorous and comprehensive selection process that spanned over 16 months.

Daughter of Rajeev Rathore, a banker with JK Bank, Anmol is from Udrana village of Bhadarwah. Anmol Rathore’s remarkable achievement as the topper of CCE-2022 was met with congratulatory messages from the JKPSC. Her dedication, hard work, and commitment to excellence have positioned her as a shining example for future aspirants. Her mother is a teacher.

A law graduate from the Gujarat National Law University, Gandhinagar, she is in love with Chinar and snow. She is a poet too and has already published her poetic collection, Songs From The Saffron Valley. Her teenage poetic collection An Unknown Face was self-published in 2012 when she was 13. She was schooled at GD Goenka Public School in Jammu.

Saurav Tagotra and Akshay Parihar secured second and third positions.

Huzaif Rashid Shiekhzada is the Kashmir Topper. Hailing from Rawathpora Kupwara, he holds the fourth position.

The announcement was made following a meeting held by the JKPSC on August 22, 2023, where the results of all candidates who had participated in the interview stage were officially declared. Anmol Rathore’s exceptional performance in the examination earned her an impressive aggregate score of 1084.50 marks, making her the frontrunner among the candidates.

The selection process for the CCE-2022 began when the General Administration Department referred 220 vacant positions to the JKPSC on April 18, 2022. These vacancies were subsequently advertised by the Commission on April 19, 2022, initiating the competitive journey for aspirants.

The preliminary examination, which took place on July 31, 2022, saw a participation of 23,571 candidates. Following this stage, 4,944 candidates were shortlisted for the Main (Written) examination from February 20, 2023, to March 2, 2023. Of these, 3,891 candidates advanced to the interview/personality test phase, which was conducted from July 10, 2023, to August 22, 2023.

In a bid to facilitate the convenience of the candidates, the JKPSC collaborated with the Health and Medical Education Department. As part of the medical examination process, selected candidates are required to attend medical evaluations on August 23 and 24, 2023, at various Government Medical Colleges (GMC), including GMC Srinagar, Jammu, Anantnag, Baramulla, Doda, Handwara, Kathua, Rajouri, or Udhampur. The candidates have been instructed to bring six photographs with them for the medical examination.

This announcement marks the successful conclusion of the CCE-2022 selection process, which encompassed three stages: the preliminary examination, the mains, and the personality test/viva voce. The JKPSC’s commitment to conducting a rigorous and transparent selection process has ensured that only the most qualified and capable candidates have risen to the top, contributing to the administration and governance of the region. Except possibility of morning showers, hot and dry weather to continue in J&K: MeT

Srinagar, Sept 15(GNS): The weatherman on Friday forecast “hot and dry” weather to continue in Jammu and Kashmir for a week ahead.

According to a meteorological department official, light to moderate rain and thunderstorm occurred at scattered places of J&K .

“Except brief spell of morning rain, weather is very likely to remain hot and dry in Jammu and Kashmir during the next 24 hours,” the official told GNS, adding, “Day temperature was likely to remain 1-2°C lower than yesterday.”

Regarding the forecast from September 16-22, he said, the weather was mainly going to be hot and dry but a brief spell of rain at isolated to scattered places of J&K cannot be ruled out.

“Due to absence of any strong Western Disturbance or Monsoon Current over J&K, there’s no forecast of major rain for a week, at least.”(GNS)

Budgam duo on Scooty die on spot after being hit by a Sumo

Baramulla, Sep 12, KNT: Two persons, one who was driving the Scooty and the pillion rider died on the spot after being hit by a speeding Sumo in North Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Tuesday.

The mishap took place in Hairath Singhpora area of Pattan.

Sources told the news agency Kashmir News Trust that a Sumo (JK15-0782) hit a Scooty ( JK04-E4493). The driver of the Scooty and pillion rider died on the spot. They said both were taken to hospital where doctors declared them brought dead.

The deceased have been identified as Faizian Mushtaq Ganai of Chandakot Bala Magam and Riyaz Sajad Mala, a resident of Yagipora Magam.

Police seized the Sumo, arrested driver and registered a case under relevant sections of law. [KNT]
