Kashmir University announces admission for various PG & Other Courses (Professional & Non-Professional) Session 2023

On-line Applications are invited from the eligible candidates (Bachelors) for appearing in Kashmir University Entrance Test (KUET) for admission to the below mentioned Professional and Non-Professional Programmes for the academic session 2023.
However, the candidates who have passed their qualifying examination under Choice Based Credit System Scheme are eligible/can apply for admission to the PG Programme/s only in such subjects where he/she has earned/obtained at least 24 credits in Core or Generic Elective Courses at Under-Graduation Level. However, for the courses/programmes where there is open eligibility like LL.B, MA Mass Communication & Journalism, MA Library & Information Science, MA Linguistics, MA Anthropology, MA Social Work etc., the candidates having passed their qualifying examination in any discipline are eligible/can apply for admission to said programmes.
I) Masters/Bachelors Programme (Professional) in: MTTM, M.Ed., M.P.Ed., Mass Communication & Journalism, MCA, LL.B (3-Year), Integrated
B.Ed-M.Ed;
II) Masters Programme (Non-Professional) in: Arabic, English, Hindi, Kashmiri, Linguistics, Persian, Sanskrit, Urdu, Commerce, Economics, Education, Psychology, Anthropology, History, Islamic Studies, Political Science, Library & Information Science, Sociology, Social Work, Gender Studies,

CUK announces winter break from Dec 18

Srinagar, Dec 01 (KNO): The Central University of Kashmir on Friday announced winter break from December 18 to February 05, 2024.
According to a notice, a copy of which lies with the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) wherever courses are yet to be completed, departments shall be allowed to complete the syllabus through online classes till December 31 or till the completion of the syllabus.
The notice reads that all such departments need to keep the Dean Academic Affairs informed in writing.
“The classwork after the vacation shall be resumed on February, 05 2024,” it said—(KNO)

Srinagar, Dec 01 (KNO): The traffic movement on Srinagar-Leh highway & Mughal Road continued to remain suspended due to fresh snowfall while the weatherman has predicted improvement in weather conditions from today.
An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that the Mughal road and Srinagar-Sonamarg-Gumri road are closed due to snow accumulation.
Meanwhile, the weatherman has predicted improvement in weather condition from today, saying the weather would remain mostly cloudy till Devember 10.
As per the local Meteorological department, significant improvement in weather is expected towards afternoon over most places of Jammu and Kashmir and dry weather thereafter—(KNO)

Govt to conduct online classes in all Degree Colleges of Kashmir region from Dec-01

Srinagar, Nov 30 (KNO): With the early onset of winters, Jammu and Kashmir Higher Education Department Thursday ordered that it will conduct online classes in all government degree colleges of Kashmir region from Dec-01-2023.
According to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) Special Secretary to the government Dr Ravi Shanker Sharma in a communique said, “Due to early onset of winter, students enrolled in Government Degree Colleges of Kashmir Division are facing major challenge in commuting to college and, thereby, attending classes.”
“Situation has got compounded due to disruption to normal class work with inadequate heating arrangements,” it reads.
The communique further states that with the implementation of admission based on merit and choice, students have to travel distances or stay in Hostel or stay in private accommodations which has put them to severe hardship due to early onset of harsh winter.
Ir reads, “In order to ensure unhindered academic delivery in adverse and extreme cold conditions, it is impressed upon all the Principals of Government Degree Colleges of Kashmir Division that classes will be conducted via online mode w.e.f. December-01-2023 till December-31-2023 or till winter vacations are announced, whichever is earlier.”
“Further, Principals of Govt. Degree Colleges of Kashmir Division are directed to ensure that the faculty will attend their respective colleges regularly and take their classes online from the colleges in order to complete the syllabus as per academic calendar,” the official said.
It also said that all internal examinations and semester-end examinations will be conducted as per notified schedule of universities or institutions—(KNO)
