School Edu Deptt to promote happiness zone in schools for joyful learning, cordial pupil-teacher relation

Srinagar, Mar 18 (KNO): School Education Department has decided to promote happiness zones in government-run-schools for joyful learning in order to make a cordial pupil-teacher relation.

According to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), Director of School Education Jammu (DSEJ) Ravi Shankar Sharma has said, “Happiness zones need to be promoted in schools for joyful learning in order to make a cordial pupil-teacher relation.”

Sharma said this in the backdrop of the proposed activities for the mega student enrolment drive for academic year 2023-24.

“It is imperative to start the enrolment drive and campaign for the session 2023-24 in all the government schools of the Jammu division by the active participation of the Teachers and School Heads including all functionaries of the School Education Department at Divisional level,” Sharma said.

He also said that the new session is about to begin. “Therefore DSEJ is announcing a mega enrolment campaign starting from March-20-2023 without affecting the school work.”

Stating the activities that are proposed for the campaign, Sharma said, “All schools having primary sections shall also start enrolling students in pre-primary classes.”

“Existing CAL centres, ICT labs and Atal Tinkering labs are required to be put in use for e-learning,” the director ordered.

He also ordered that the face-lifting of schools shall also be done for their attractive outlook.

Sharma said, “List of the meritorious students needs to be displayed at suitable places in the school premises for the encouragement of students.”

He also said that the public should be made aware about the availability of well qualified staff.

The director also ordered that a interactive sessions with the school alumni shall be done for boosting the morale of the students.

“AII JDs and Chief Education Officers including. Principal DIETs. HODs of DIETs. Deputy CEOs, DEPOs, DIET faculty Zonal Education officers, and Zonal Education Planning officers shall visit at least one or more habitations as a part of the door-to-door campaign in order to inspire field functionaries,” Sharma said.

The director also said, “Door to Door Campaigning by HOls and Teachers, rallies by Children, Parent motivation camps involving SMC/VEC & other Community leaders, PRIs and Village elders.”—(KNO)

Srinagar, Dec 01 (KNO): The Central University of Kashmir on Friday announced winter break from December 18 to February 05, 2024.

According to a notice, a copy of which lies with the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) wherever courses are yet to be completed, departments shall be allowed to complete the syllabus through online classes till December 31 or till the completion of the syllabus.

The notice reads that all such departments need to keep the Dean Academic Affairs informed in writing.

“The classwork after the vacation shall be resumed on February, 05 2024,” it said—(KNO)

Srinagar, Dec 01 (KNO): The traffic movement on Srinagar-Leh highway & Mughal Road continued to remain suspended due to fresh snowfall while the weatherman has predicted improvement in weather conditions from today.

An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that the Mughal road and Srinagar-Sonamarg-Gumri road are closed due to snow accumulation.

Meanwhile, the weatherman has predicted improvement in weather condition from today, saying the weather would remain mostly cloudy till Devember 10.

As per the local Meteorological department, significant improvement in weather is expected towards afternoon over most places of Jammu and Kashmir and dry weather thereafter—(KNO)

Govt to conduct online classes in all Degree Colleges of Kashmir region from Dec-01

Srinagar, Nov 30 (KNO): With the early onset of winters, Jammu and Kashmir Higher Education Department Thursday ordered that it will conduct online classes in all government degree colleges of Kashmir region from Dec-01-2023.

According to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) Special Secretary to the government Dr Ravi Shanker Sharma in a communique said, “Due to early onset of winter, students enrolled in Government Degree Colleges of Kashmir Division are facing major challenge in commuting to college and, thereby, attending classes.”

“Situation has got compounded due to disruption to normal class work with inadequate heating arrangements,” it reads.

The communique further states that with the implementation of admission based on merit and choice, students have to travel distances or stay in Hostel or stay in private accommodations which has put them to severe hardship due to early onset of harsh winter.

Ir reads, “In order to ensure unhindered academic delivery in adverse and extreme cold conditions, it is impressed upon all the Principals of Government Degree Colleges of Kashmir Division that classes will be conducted via online mode w.e.f. December-01-2023 till December-31-2023 or till winter vacations are announced, whichever is earlier.”

“Further, Principals of Govt. Degree Colleges of Kashmir Division are directed to ensure that the faculty will attend their respective colleges regularly and take their classes online from the colleges in order to complete the syllabus as per academic calendar,” the official said.

It also said that all internal examinations and semester-end examinations will be conducted as per notified schedule of universities or institutions—(KNO)
